Monitor Your Equipment with the myKubota App

Oct 5, 2021

In an ever-increasing digital age, consumers have come to expect instant data and metrics readily available at their fingertips that enables them to make informed decisions. To meet this demand, Kubota launched “KubotaNOW Telematics” in the myKubota app in Fall of 2020 to support and empower Kubota owners with increased functionally and insight into their equipment.

“The myKubota app is a tool intended to give customers access to key resources like maintenance schedules, how-to instructions and videos, operators manuals and easy access to their local dealer,” said Josh Skanderup, principal advisor, portfolio lead for Kubota. “Today, customers expect machines to be connected and enabled with remote management to help them operate more efficiently and have more visibility on their equipment, so we launched this simple, yet robust solution for Kubota equipment owners.”

A key feature of the myKubota app is telematics functionality. Though not currently available across all segments, KubotaNOW telematics provide in-depth information about the equipment’s performance and location. Some of these insights include engine status, fuel level, coolant temperatures, battery voltage and physical location of the equipment. Additionally, if a piece of equipment is experiencing engine or other functionality issues, owners are notified with fault codes in the app.

Telematic-enabled machines also have geo-fencing capability. This allows equipment owners to use the app to set physical boundaries where the equipment should be operating. If the equipment exits or re-enters the geo-fence area, an alert is sent in the app to notify the equipment owner. As an added anti-theft benefit, construction equipment and RTV owners can remotely disable the starter to prevent equipment from being stolen from a jobsite.

Telematics are available through the myKubota app on equipment across the following segments:

  • Construction equipment: available on all equipment except SCL-1000

  • Tractors: available on M4, M5, M6, M7 and some additional tractors with more being added

  • RTVs: available on all models except the RTV520.

While telematics are currently unavailable on turf equipment and most compact and sub-compact tractors, there are plans to expand functionality to those segments in the future.

The myKubota app is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. To learn more, visit www.kubotausa.com/mykubota.
